    1. Sherbet Ride Electric Taxi Powering the Zero Emission Mission To Europe

Comments Off on Sherbet Ride Electric Taxi Powering the Zero Emission Mission To Europe

The iconic London Black Cab is powering a Euro Mission to Germany for the Eco Grand Prix on 29th November.
The expedition aims to promote sustainable transport alternatives, strengthen EU trade
and promote healthy competition in collaboration with the 24-hour race – whatever
      happens with Brexit.

Sherbet Ride CEO Asher Moses said: “It’s great to see the much loved iconic licensed
London Electric taxi taking part in the EV Euro mission. We are establishing a
community that enables us to future proof of the London Taxi transport infrastructure.
The Electric Vehicle drivers will depart from London Bridge on Thursday 28th November
and embark on the 1,200-mile cross channel expedition to the Motorsport Arena in
Oschersleben near Berlin, aiming to persuade organisers of the Eco Grand Prix to bring
      the event to the UK.

Eco Grand Prix founder Rafael De Mestre said: “Electric cars are the perfect products to
give the human race the chance to survive. We are at the point where we can effect
change, but there can be no more delay. This international 24-hour race series is a
      perfect way to showcase that.”

The EV Euro Mission also aims to dispel the myth that electric cars are hampered by
range and performance, while encouraging friendly rivalry with European counterparts.
Ric Boullemier, EV Driver said: “Whether we’re part of Europe or not, we have to work
together when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions. Education is crucial and the clock is
ticking to improve our driving habits. You can follow our progress via my Instagram
      account @TheSustainableDad.

Completing the drive from London to Germany is only the first stage, as the main event
will see more than 50 cars going bumper to bumper at the arena for sustainable glory.
Sherbet Ride CEO, Asher Moses added: “We support technology and sustainability and
focus on customer service and excellence. Sherbet’s evolution is about the future: the
future of the industry, our children’s future, and the environment.

3,000 London drivers have invested in electric vehicles the future is here and now. This
trip to Germany will surely put to rest the myth that electric vehicles cannot travel long
      distances.

Sherbet London and London’s taxi drivers will continue to lead the way to help
companies in the ULEZ zone to reduce carbon emissions in London as per the Mayor’s
      strategy.”

Rafael de Mestre adds: “This technology opens the mind to thinking about how to
survive on our beautiful planet. It is bringing nations together, avoiding wars and
opening the way to a sustainable future.
“Energy storage is the most important thing the human race will need to survive. It will
enable us to travel the universe and electric cars are the first step, followed by
      aeroplanes and then spaceships.”

SHERBET LONDON PARTNERS WITH WORLD TRAVEL MARKET LONDON TO REDUCE 18,000,000 g (18 tons) OF CO2 EMISSIONS

Electric taxi company Sherbet London is setting out to offset 18 tons of CO2 emissions with World Travel Market (WTM) London through 1,000 one-way airport transfers and taxi rides within London.

Sherbet London will be the official taxi company for WTM London, a globally recognised travel industry event taking place 4- 6 November at Excel London.  40 WTM London and London Travel Week branded electric cabs will be available for airport transfers and journeys around London in honour of the 40th anniversary of WTM London.

WTM London and Sherbet London aim to offset 18 tons of carbon emissions starting at WTM London by targeting 1,000 rides in their electric cabs. Each Sherbet electric cab emits just 29 g of CO2 per km as opposed to a typical diesel taxi which emits 222 g.

With a return flight from LHR to JFK representing 986,000 g of CO2, the campaign is expected to off-set over 18 return LHR- JFK flights or 76 European flights in less than a week.

WTM London attendees will have a front-row seat to the positive environmental impact of the campaign by being able to view live CO2 offset measurement displayed on screens along with a Black Cab at the Sherbet London stand in the Boulevard at ExCel and on the WTM London website.

To help them reach their goal, exhibitors and visitors are encouraged to book their airport transfer or London taxi journey with Sherbet Ride through a special online booking system https://sherbetride.com/wtm-booker/ also found on WTM London’s website.

    7. Sherbet Supports an Increase of Rapid Charging Network

Comments Off on Sherbet Supports an Increase of Rapid Charging Network

Sherbet wholly supports an urgent increase in the rapid charging network to keep London moving cleanly and sustainably.

      [dt_divider style=”thick” /]

We want to make it easier for Londoners to switch from diesel to electric taxis as a key part of reducing toxic emissions. The Mayor’s ambition of London becoming a zero-emission city is fast becoming a reality. We are an all-electric and accessible taxi fleet that offers a green transport solution to businesses and customers in London.

Speaking at the launch of the London EV Infrastructure Delivery Plan at the Institution of Engineering and Technology today, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said:

‘London’s air is so dirty and polluted that it amounts to nothing less than a serious public health crisis. It breaches legal limits and blights the lives of Londoners, resulting in thousands of premature deaths every year. We are also facing a climate emergency that threatens the long-term security and wellbeing of every Londoner.

We need to reject the fossil fuels of the past and embrace an electric revolution in London’s transport. To truly transform the quality of our air and to tackle the climate crisis London must move away from petrol and diesel cars, with their catastrophic impact on the environment, and towards zero- emission vehicles.

I want London to lead the world in this ambition, with all new cars and vans on London roads to meeting these standards by 2030, not 2040 as the government is proposing. To make this vision a reality we must make sure all Londoners have access to the essential infrastructure required to run and maintain an electric vehicle. This is a massive operation and can only be achieved if the public and private sector come together to deliver London’s electric future.’

    8. ULEZ IN LONDON – IS YOUR BUSINESS READY?

Comments Off on ULEZ IN LONDON – IS YOUR BUSINESS READY?

      S

With ULEZ launch on the 8th April, we are committed to reducing air pollution on London’s roads with our fleet of Electric Taxis

      [dt_divider style=”thick” /]

ULEZ map TFLSince the 8th of April 2019, a new Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is in place in Central London, demanding most vehicles to meet tighter exhaust emission standards or be liable to a daily charge. This may affect many businesses based in the ULEZ zone.

Our CEO and Founder Asher Moses says:

‘We are committed to playing our part in helping replace traditional diesel taxis with 21st-century electric taxis which represent an environmental benefit to the people of London and the planet. Already the largest fleet of electric taxis in London, our ambition is to grow to 1,000 electric vehicles nationwide over the next three years – helping to protect our environment for future generations to enjoy.’

Our electric taxis (which are ultra-low emission vehicles) provide you with stylish, comfortable transport and help your company reduce its carbon footprint. As well as providing wheelchair access, they feature a suite of in-cab technology – including Wi-Fi, charging points, panoramic sunroof, air-con, and a privacy compartment.

With ULEZ zone 2019 introduction most vehicles are liable for a daily charge to drive in central London. It might be targeted at improving air quality and reducing city congestion, but it gives us all a chance to make a positive change in our ecosystems and switch to the low emission Future of Commuting. That’s why Sherbet is offering a free consultation to businesses based in the ULEZ zone and wider London area explaining how the new requirements can impact your business and how we can help reduce your carbon footprint by using our Electric and locally sourced Taxis.
