   Since the 8th of April 2019, a new Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is in place in Central London, demanding most vehicles to meet tighter exhaust emission standards or be liable to a daily charge. This may affect many businesses based in the ULEZ zone.

   A leading UK asset finance firm is plugging into the green taxi revolution being led by tougher legislation and environmentally-conscious passengers.

   Over the first quarter of 2019,  Ethos Asset Finance –  one of the country’s principal finance providers to the taxi, chauffeur and private hire sectors – has seen enquiries for the sourcing and funding of electric cabs rise by 15 per cent.

   The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) – which makes electric black cabs – reported that in the traditionally quiet month of October (2018) it had sold 172 electric taxis across the UK, 160 of which were purchased through its London dealership.

   And with Transport for London introducing legislation that requires all new taxi services operating in the capital to be zero-emissions capable, it is forecast that by the end of 2020 some 9,000 of the city’s 21,000 taxis would be electric.

   To raise awareness that finance for electric cabs is available to cabbies, Ethos Asset Finance has sponsored Sherbet London LEVC-built taxi to cleanly – and quietly – operate around the streets of London.

   Chris Brown, who set up Ethos Asset Finance in 2007 after two decades in the banking industry, said:

   “Over the last 12 years, we have become the ‘go to’ finance expert for firms and individuals operating in the taxi, chauffeur and private hire sectors. In the early days, we were purely financing petrol and diesel cars, but over recent years these are steadily being overtaken by hybrid and electric vehicles. In the first quarter of this year, we have seen a sharp rise in enquiries for electric taxis – in particular LEVC black cabs. We see this as very much a growth sector for us, one for us to plug into. And thanks to our reputation, those seeking finance for electric cabs are making a beeline for Ethos Asset Finance.”

4. In The Style x Emily Atack Press Day & Collection Launch

   At the collection’s press day last week Emily arrived in her own iconic branded In The Style taxi which was decorated with pink balloons, throws and cushions. Emily was proudly posing in front of the taxi whilst paparazzi were taking pictures which ended up on the first pages of top magazines such as Daily Mail, Ok! and the Mirror.

   Following the press day’s success few days later Emily made an entrance in her taxi at the official collection launch party at the Libertine by Chinatown. Along with her close friends Emily was sharing snaps and videos of both event’s on her social media accounts.

7. Barclaycard Taxis at Business Travel Show 2019

   We had a pleasure to work with Barclaycard during this year’s Business Travel Show

    

   Sherbet London has provided an exclusive shuttle taxi service to the Business Travel Show at Olympia London. Throughout the event, our Sherbet Marshalls were based at Earl’s Court and Shepherds Bush underground stations from early hours were taking BTS Visitors to their Barclaycard branded taxis. Marshalls were also distributing Barclaycard leaflets and encouraging visitors to see their stand at the show and receive a free hot beverage.

   Overall, the Barclaycard #FutureOfPayments PR taxi activity was a huge success promoting and discussing the future of travel payments and launching Barclaycard new partnership with Amadeus.

    Electric taxis are becoming popular on London’s streets with constant growing interest from both passenger’s and driver’s side

    Here are some new exciting features which make the passenger love and appreciate electric taxi rides.

     

    Recently, I was able to ride as a passenger in the newest Sherbet Electric taxi around London. The first thing that stands out is how spacious it is – there were six available passenger seats including wheelchair accessibility which makes the ride truly pleasant and comfortable.

    The passenger area utters a luxurious feel. The high ceiling which is, in fact, a panoramic roof, for the first time gives the passenger an opportunity to discover London’s sky comfortably from their seat. This feature makes you realise how much the passenger was missing out on when sited under the usual blank roof. The ride in an electric taxi creates a feeling that can be compared to sitting in an isolated VIP compartment rather than the seats of a taxi.

They are absent from the noisy diesel and clanging vibrations of taxis’ older versions. You can easily unwind, work or relax and hold a conversation without any noise disruptions.

    London electric vehicle company (LEVC) has equipped every TXE taxi with USB charging points as well as a full-size power socket which can be used to charge your laptop or smartphone for example. On top of that, you’re able to gain access to free 4G Wifi while onboard, control air conditioning with climate control and switch on/off the speaker to communicate with your taxi driver.
